Recently I met the Myers family at the old Grapevine train depot, on an over-cast afternoon, for a fun family portrait session. We had a great time tromping around amongst the vintage trains, this family knows how to rock it for sure.

I’m so excited to share with you my recent session with the cutest little twins, who recently celebrated their first birthday. When I arrived for their cake smash session, I couldn’t believe how cute the “stage” was…their sweet Momma had stayed up nights putting together the perfect backdrop. Mom and Dad even got in on the fun…what more could I ask for? I was one happy photographer! Mom even blogged about the experience, which you can read here.

Wow, I have fallen way behind on my blog posts! I blame this in large part on the hacks that took over my blog back in November, causing me to lose my most recent blog post and precious time during my busy season. It was touch and go for several weeks, and at one point it looked like I might lose everything and have to start from scratch. Thanks to my amazing husband, who is my in-house tech support (much to his chagrin), I lost very little…but unfortunately then I was out of the habit of posting regularly, and now here we are. I am going to try to get back in the habit of posting my sessions regularly, because I have so many beautiful images that need to be shared with you. Thank you so much for patiently waiting for me!
What a pleasure it was working with this family! I met Becky through the local playgroup organization here, and she is as sweet as she is lovely. The McDonald’s chose the Botanic Gardens in Grapevine for their family portrait session, on a bright and sunny Sunday morning. The weather and the location were fantastic, but the family is what made it so fun.

When a friend asked if she could book a session of various pilates poses for her business marketing materials, I was a little hesitant because this certainly is not my specialty or even something I offer. I agreed, but only if I did it as a favor…and I told her to remember me the next time she needs a portrait photographer.

August 23rd was an exciting day, Finley was starting second grade, and yet we were all a little sad too. Finley was brave and tried to hold back her tears when we dropped her off, I tried to hold back mine all day. Reagan missed her sister and playmate. But here we are, three weeks later, second grade is going well and we have settled back into our school routine.
I love you Finley girl, and I am so proud of you!
