The Twins Are Here!

Posted by Tracy in Babies on 01 4th, 2010

My adorable twin nephews A and B arrived safe and sound a few weeks ago, and I was lucky enough to get to take their pictures. It is such an amazing thing that there are two of them, I just can’t wrap my head around it! I have seen lots of multiples in my life, and have even been friends with a few, but it is completely different to experience it in your own family. They are such tiny blessings, and I can’t wait to take their pictures again and again! Here are a few of my favorites from their session:

Carmel-by-the-Sea Escape

Posted by Tracy in Random on 12 11th, 2009

My husband and I recently celebrated our ten year anniversary, and as a treat took a little weekend getaway without the kids to escape from reality for a few days. We rented a cute little cottage in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA and despite me catching a cold the day before we left we had a wonderful time. We did miss the girls terribly and were so happy to be with them again when we got back! Here is a peek at our romantic getaway:

our favorite pizza: Ground Beef and Black Olives from Lamppost in Patterson, CA

the adorable phone booth outside our cottage to call the office

the living room in our adorable little cottage

living room/bath room

bedroom

not so ordinary breakfast

my husband and I got our first ever massages here, a 60 minute couples Swedish massage…heavenly

Cannery Row at night

breakfast at a bakery filled with delicious things

adorable ginger-bread men we bought the girls

our favorite beach (Carmel)

another favorite: Casa de Fruta!

Thanksgiving Day

Posted by Tracy in Random on 12 5th, 2009

I know I am behind in posting these, but I am behind on just about everything after having out-of-town guests the week of Thanksgiving so I hope you will forgive me. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family, good food, and football…and unfortunately for some of us a cold, but we enjoyed the day despite that.

My mom and my oldest decorated our table

The yummy stuffing I made from a new recipe I found in my November ‘09 Food Network Magazine (love that magazine!). It had bacon in it!!

Pioneer Woman’s rolls…enough said.

The turkey my husband made was the best we had ever tasted. It took three days of prep work (about an hour the first two days, then maybe three hours the day of). Every bite of turkey had amazing flavor!

My overly full plate…I was barely able to finish, but it was so good!

Pies!

So many dishes (about a third of the days dishes are pictured here). It took three loads in the dishwasher, plus three sinks full that were hand-washed to get it all done.

10th Anniversary Trip

Posted by Tracy in Random on 11 26th, 2009

Today was wonderful and we had a very happy Thanksgiving despite my oldest giving my youngest, my dad, and me her cold. I have so much to be thankful for! I hope your Thanksgiving was especially bright!

Tomorrow morning my husband and I leave on our weekend getaway to the California coast to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We have been looking forward to this for months, and I am super excited, I just hope I feel better in the morning. I just took NyQuil…good night!

*The photo below was not taken by me, I just thought it fit this post. I promise to post pictures of our trip when we get back!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just a few of the things I am thankful for today:

1. My family
2. Our health
3. Our freedom

I hope your Thanksgiving day is filled with family & friends, good health, good food, and lots of fun. Remember the people and the things that you are thankful for, and make some wonderful memories tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Fall Colors

Posted by Tracy in Children on 11 23rd, 2009

All last week there was a thick layer of gorgeous yellow leaves under the trees surrounding the duck pond near our house, and all week I planned to take my two girls there on Saturday morning for pictures. Guess what? The lawn crew sucked them all up with their mowers on Friday. I was so bummed! I kept my fingers crossed that a new blanket of leaves would magically appear the next morning, but it was not to be. We did our pictures anyway, and there were a few leaves on the ground but it really didn’t matter that there weren’t piles of them…it was my beautiful daughters that stole the show.

Double Trouble

My sweet sister-in-law is expecting her second…and third, yes twins, and both boys! When she asked me to take her maternity portraits I was so super excited! We had so much fun, and they are such a beautiful family. Here is a peek at our session.

The Pumpkin Patch

Posted by Tracy in Children on 10 27th, 2009

I remember loving field trips when I was little, and I remember my mom coming along with us and how much fun it was to have her with me “at school”. Yesterday was my daughter’s very first field trip, and I wasn’t going to miss it for anything! We went to a local farm that has a pumpkin patch as well as a few other activities for the kids this time of year. I took my camera and took as many pictures as I could while holding my 17 month old, who I also brought with me. As you can imagine I ended up with some camera shake (it is hard enough to keep that camera steady without having to hold a toddler too!), but I ended up with some shots that I love as well (most I took when I was able to put my toddler down for a few minutes). Here is a peek at what our day was like at the local pumpkin patch!

Photography Class Canceled

Posted by Tracy in Random on 10 25th, 2009

Weeks ago I signed up for a really interesting photography class called Capturing Chico’s Fall Colors, taught by local photographer Kathleen Gauthier. It was supposed to take place this weekend but I got a call informing me it had been canceled due to the fact that not enough people signed up to take the class. Bummer! I was really looking forward to this! We were supposed to go to a 209 acre Tree Farm to capture fall colors at their best. I really hope they decide to offer this again in the future.

In the words of my photography idol Jasmine Star, a post is always better with a picture so here is one from last weekend when we went to the theater. This is my oldest and her friend.

I’m A Winner!

Posted by Tracy in Random on 10 16th, 2009

Today I found out that I won a photo contest (for parents) at my daughter’s school! The photo I entered was of her on her first day of Kindergarten, although I’m not sure yet which one they picked as I entered a couple different ones. The prize is a $10 Starbucks gift card, and I’ll gladly take it because I love Starbucks, but more than the prize I am just so excited that I won! My picture will also be included in the school’s yearbook, which is definitely cool.

Pumpkin Spice Frappachino here I come!
